Back in 2016 I watched a video about a way of generating income that made a lot of sense to me. I loved the simplicity and the way that the gal in the video communicated. This sounded completely up my alley. And that was Jessica.
We met and subsequently I did her training and started my medical billing business. She’s always been very easy to reach and helpful with all of the basics of setting up the biz and whatever I had to ask about billing which was great in the beginning.
Once I secured my first client she was always there to answer questions and walk me through the process and to this day she still points me in the right direction.

Two years ago I wanted and needed to make a change in my life. Having spent the majority of my life working for others - some very good and some not so good - I decided to look into the idea of creating a business that would work around me and all the things I wanted to do. I reached out to a friend who recommended I contact Jessica. When she told me about the healthcare billing business and why she did it I was hooked. It aligned with what I wanted to do - help people as a primary goal - and believe it or not, it appealed to me in terms of puzzles. I LOVE digging in, figuring out why things are not doing as well as they should and resolving it. I immediately jumped on her training and went for it.
As this is my first business I was excited and terrified all at the same time. Jessica worked with me, answered questions, helped me close my first client and stayed with me the whole time.
I was fortunate enough to hook up with a wonderful doc who was in dire need of help. With guidance I was able to completely revamp his billing and find all the mistakes that had been missed/ignored with his previous staff. At one point he even told me that he actually "felt" the tides turning - in essence the decline had been arrested - and he was excited again as a doc. This was huge for me - THIS is why I entered into this profession. Being able to help others and see results in the physical universe is the best feeling in the world. I'm now excited too!
As I said before I was nervous as a cat when starting, but with Jessica to help keep me grounded and reminding me that all the barriers I encountered were totally NORMAL, I was able to push through.
I have gone through changes that I thought would never happen and I thank her so much for being a mentor to me to get me this far. I'm looking forward to taking on more clients, learning more and doing the same over and over.

1.) Do you teach us how to get clients?
Absolutely.
Building a successful billing business requires more than knowing how to bill—it requires knowing how to find and serve clients.
Throughout the apprenticeship, we'll cover client acquisition, positioning, sales conversations, marketing, and modern business-building strategies. Because the marketplace continues to evolve, the strategies we discuss will evolve as well, ensuring you're learning what works today rather than relying on outdated approaches.
2.) How long does it take, on average, to get this business up and running?
There isn't a single answer because every apprentice begins from a different place.
Some people move quickly. Others take longer because of work, family commitments, or the amount of time they're able to dedicate to building their business.
Rather than rushing you toward your first client, this apprenticeship is designed to help you build your business correctly.
My recommendation is to give yourself a full year to learn the skill, gain confidence, and build a strong foundation. I can't promise a specific timeline or guarantee results, but I can promise to guide you through the process and help you avoid many of the mistakes people make when trying to do it alone.
3.) How do I know if this career path is for me?
This apprenticeship is ideal for people who want to build a business around a valuable, future-focused skill.
You'll likely enjoy this work if you:

This probably isn't the right fit if you're looking for overnight success, shortcuts, or someone else to build your business for you.
Building a successful billing business takes commitment—but it can provide stability, recurring revenue, and a skill that remains valuable for years to come.
4.) How much can I make as a medical billing business owner?
Medical billing services are typically paid a percentage of the insurance revenue they collect for a practice—generally 6–8% of monthly insurance collections. That means your income depends on the size of the practice you serve.
To give you a real-world example, I recently surveyed Billing Rebels graduates. On average, those working with a typical chiropractic practice reported earning approximately $2,500 per month from that single client while spending about 5 hours per week managing the account.
Chiropractic practices also tend to have lower reimbursement rates than many other medical specialties, which is one of the reasons I recommend them as a starting point. They're an excellent place to gain experience, build confidence, and establish a track record before expanding into larger or more complex practices.
As with any business, there are no guarantees. Your income will depend on factors such as the clients you serve, the specialty you choose, your pricing, and the effort you put into building your business. The example above is provided simply to illustrate how the business model works and what has been possible for many of my graduates.
5.) How does this compare to regular medical billing training?
Most medical billing programs teach you how to become an employee. Billing Rebels teaches you how to build a business.
You'll certainly learn how to bill—and you'll learn to bill well—but technical billing is only one part of building a successful company.
The apprenticeship combines medical billing training with business development, client acquisition, branding, marketing, modern AI tools, mentorship, and ongoing guidance to help you build a professional billing service from the ground up.
The goal isn't simply to help you earn a certification.
The goal is to help you build a business capable of supporting your life for years to come.

No—and I would never make that promise.
Your success depends on many factors that neither I nor anyone else can control, including your consistency, execution, commitment, and the decisions you make throughout the process.
